Location: Siem Reap
Hotel: Make sure book beforehand. We booked a hostel for 5$/night (Cercle d'Angkor). Hostel ni dekat sangat-sangat dengan Night Market dia. Advisable to rent near night market or kampung muslim. Senang nk shopping and makan yang halal.
Airport pickup: We already deal with the hostel to pick us up from airport for 15$ (van). Cheaper if u took tuktuk.
Tour guide: Tak perlu. Sebab kat sini, driver tuktuk tu akan automatik jadi tour guide. haaa, so pentingnya cari tour guide yang pandai cakap melayu or english yang kau boleh faham. Kat mana nak cari? Boleh cari kat FB (Mustafa TukTuk recommended). Ataupun cari kat perkampungan islam (Maliki and the gang).
Volunteer: If you are interested, go check the FB Cambodian Muslim. They are always welcoming any volunteer to teach the students there for free.
Makan: Makanan halal banyak dekat perkampungan islam. Yang murah and recommended would be at The Siem Reap Backpackers Restaurant & Bakery (murah and sedap).
Weather: Almost the same with Malaysia. But theres wet season and dry season. Be prepared to bring poncho if wet season.
Nasi Goreng for 2$ (free drinks)
Where to visit?
Main attraction of course would be Angkor Wat. Disebabkan kitorang cuma ada dua hari nak berjalan, memang semua tempat nak sumbat dalam dua hari tu. Macam impossible tapi haaa gila ah kita berjaya.
1. Night Market, Pub Street and Old Market
Disebabkan kitorang sewa dekat dengan Night Market ni, so hari-hari boleh pergi. Advisable utk korang survey harga dulu hari first. Sebab dia memang mark-up gila-gila ah.For tshirt paling murah kitorang boleh nego is 2 for 3$. Ada jgk kedai yang offer 1$ untuk design lama. So kalau mahal dari harga ni, pergi kedai lain. Nego selagi boleh okay.
2. Angkor Wat, Bayon Temple, and Ta Prohm
Entry fee: 20$ for 1 day, 40$ for 3 days (for all temples)
If u decide to go for one day, wake up early to catch the sunrise.
PS: Please take good care of the ticket, as you must show your ticket before entering each temple.
Angkor Wat
Bayon
also known as smiling faces temples.
excuse my mask, caught a cold :(
Ta Prohm
famous for filming location of Tomb Raider (Angelina Jolie) and the big tree that outgrow from the temple.
sesat dalam temple yang kecik ni.
We only covered three temples because we need to go back to volunteering in the evening. Huuuuuu. Sedih tapi nak buat macam mana.
